1925 family reunion

Brubaker Family Reunion

Come and join us!

Each year, since 1919 (with the exception of the years 1942-1945 during the Second World War), the Brubaker Families of  America has held its annual Family Reunion.  Since at least the early 1990’s it has been held the first weekend of August; for many years of late it has been the first Sunday in August.August 5, 2012

Over the years many of the Family Reunions have been held on what was the original “A” Family’s ancestral homestead.  The second annual reunion, held in 1920, was the first time it was held at the “A” Family home farm on the Marietta Pike, in East Hempfield Township, just west of Lancaster.  For quite a number of years of late it has been held at the Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, located on the campus of Homestead Village, which occupies a sizable portion of the original home farm.

The reunion attracts many cousins of all ages from all over the United States and overseas.  We have had cousins visit from as far away as California, Colorado, Michigan, and even Iraq!Jay Brubaker, 2012Cousins are encouraged to bring photos and memorabilia.  We have a featured speaker who shares about a timely and relevant topic, such as DNA testing; or it may be a Brubaker cousin who is a craftsman or artisan.  There is no fee to join us, however, we ‘pass the hat’ to collect contributions to help defer costs.  The option of lunch is provided for a nominal fee; advance reservations are required should you desire to have a lunch provided for you.

For any questions about the reunion, feel free to contact us.
