Does anyone know anything of Bishop Jacob and these items?
From the Harrisburg, PA Courier, July 28, 1912:
Reverend Jacob M. Brubaker, the Mennonite Bishop, residing near Mt. Joy, has in his possession a pewter communion cup, salt stand, German book and a chest, which was brought to America from Switzerland by his great-great-great-grandfather, John Brubaker, in 1716.
From the article we know that this was a sixth generation member of our larger Brubaker-Brubacher family. Do any of these items still exist? If so, are they still in family possession or have they found their way elsewhere? Would anyone have any images of these items?
We’re going to do further research to at least find out more about this particular Brubaker cousin and his family. Possibly this will lead us to these items, if they still exist.
