2021 Brubaker Family Reunion

99th Annual Reunion takes place online again because of COVID-19

Once again because of concerns with COVID-19, the Board of Directors of The Brubaker Families of America decided to have a “Virtual” reunion this year.  We had a wonderfully successful experience holding last year’s event on multiple platforms that it was an easy decision to do so again this year.

The event was held on Zoom on Saturday August 7th.  We hope to get it uploaded to our YouTube Channel, here on the website, and on Facebook soon.

Our featured speaker was cousin Linda E. Brubaker of Lititz, PA, who presented Three Noteworthy Lancaster County Folk Artists – Their Life and Work. Linda was a featured presenter at the Brubaker Families of America’s 300th Anniversary event in August of 2017. Of a more personal connection for her, one of the three Folk Artists that she told about, Christian Strenge, is of particular interest. He was a Hessian soldier captured at the Battle of Trenton, and helped build the grist mill and live on the property that later became part of the Wayne G. Brubaker (B-Line) farm in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. Wayne was the grandfather of Linda’s husband Jim Brubaker.

Linda is a Master Craftsman and Guild member in the Historical Society of Early American Decoration, a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman, and a teacher of Early American painting techniques for over 30 years.

We had about 60 participants connected during our reunion, with participants from California, Texas, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Washington, and points in between.

Did you miss our event?  No worries!  You can view it here, on Facebook, or YouTube.
